All throughout the realm of Farûm's Corners, hushed whispers of an emerging plague called The Violet Decay are spoken by it’s citizens. Four adventurers leave the safe walls of Oldminster and travel to the eastern kingdom of Sothiril to investigate.

Having located the seemingly abandoned Violet Kingdom, the party finds a cavern and ventures deep below. Following a series of complex tunnels, they eventually find a massive underground enclave inhabited by cultists and their skeleton minions. A skirmish with the cultists reveals a dagger bearing the sigil of Yasga-thul, an ancient sorcerer thought to be dead for a hundred years.

The group traverses more tunnels, finally exiting into a giant underground coliseum filled with sand that's covered in dried blood. Emerging from beneath the sands is a massive scorpion, which they must battle to the death.

Having slain the scorpion, a magical doorway appears on the opposite side of the arena. It beckons to them, promising untold riches (It's a lie, they must make a Wisdom saving throw or else believe it and fall into a pit trap)

Web of Zashtiel

|
The tunnels beyond the enchanted doorway begin to grow thick with cobwebs, eventually opening into a natural cavern that is covered with them. Here is where the Drider Zashtiel makes her home, guarding a precious weapon.

After disposing of Zashtiel, our heroes discover what she was guarding - A cursed sword. One of them grabs the blade and instantly becomes possessed, attempting to kill the others (Must cast Remove Curse or pass multiple Wisdom saving throws). They don't know it yet, but this blade will reveal the location of Yasga-thul's phylactery after it has claimed the souls of nine people.

After the possessed individual is dealt with, the party finds an old abandoned campsite and builds a fire, resting in it's warmth.

|
During their slumber, the group is found, captured, and brought to the throne room where the Lich Yasga-thul resides. Here, he reveals his plans to spread the Violet Decay, using the souls of the dead to resurrect a dozen undead dragons from the Dragon Burial Grounds under Toer to do his bidding. The party must escape, or become his first victims.

Our adventurers cannot kill Yasga-thul, but manage to escape his clutches. Will one of them become a sacrifice to create a diversion, allowing the rest to escape? Or will they simply overpower his minions? The party must find a way to stop him and his cult. Our quest is only beginning.

A dreamy, beguiling, nostalgic dungeon synth quest through the shires. But, it's so much more than that. The LP incorporates some unique key changes, field recordings and a lot of Mort Garson style synth work. It sometimes reminds me of old 70's PG horror soundtracks. The record is addictive melancholy inspiration. The ideal music for accompanying the dawning morning of an epic adventure.
