Two black pterodactyls

It’s a sunny afternoon when from the deck of the ship
we spot black dots in the sky: within seconds,
two huge, hungry pterodactyls glide onto the ship and attack us.

We draw our weapons and defend ourselves
but, before we can make them flee away,
two sailors are grabbed by the claws of the gigantic birds
and dragged into the sky.

We watch them disappear helplessly into the horizon.
The crew is shaken by the incident:
the rumours about Sagurak Island are therefore terribly true.

We reach the island late in the evening.
We recognise the outline of the mighty volcano
that emerges from the dense vegetation.
We drop the anchors and decide to stay the night.
It would be foolish to venture into the jungle in the dark.

What horrors await us on that mysterious atoll?

E' un pomeriggio assolato mentre dal ponte della nave
avvisitiamo dei punti neri nel cielo:
In pochi secondi due enormi pterodattili affamati
planano sulla nave e ci attaccano.

Sguainiamo le armi e ci difendiamo
ma prima di riuscire a metterli in fuga
due marinai vengono afferrati dagli artigli
dei giganteschi volatili e trascinati in cielo

Li guardiamo scomparire impotenti all'orizzonte
L'equipaggio è scosso dall'accaduto:
le voci che rigurdano l'isola di Sagurak
sono dunque terribilmente vere

Raggiungiamo l'isola in tarda sera:
riconosciamo il profilo
del poderoso vulcano
che spunta tra la fitta vegetazione

Gettiamo le ancore e decidiamo di fermarci la notte
Sarebbe da folli avventurarsi nella giungla con l'oscurità
Quali orrori ci attendono
su quel misterioso atollo?
