THREE DANGEROUS ARTIFACTS

"Hell of a thief, we all owe you our lives"
Viktor moans while he is still spitting blood on the ground

In the four niches of the room
we find magical weapons and precious gems.
But a well-known talisman, hanging from a nail in the wall,
attracts our attention:
how could it be here, after we returned it
to a merchant in the city at the end of our first quest?

We take the two curved knives,
one with a white blade and the other with black steel
and we bring them back to the hermit together with the talisman:
the three most precious treasures of the cave, as he had asked us.

"I hope you will make them disappear forever,
they are objects with evil power"
Sarohma speaks to him, firmly,
looking at the hermit in his eyes.

He smiles, with a completely different peaceful attitude
than our first meeting:
"It has always been my purpose.
May the visions you had in the magic cave
let you get a piece of the truth you are looking for"

Just after we say goodbye to this mysterious old man
Garandir turns one last time and exclaims
"Hermit, what's your name?"

"Once I was called Bran"

TRE PERICOLOSI ARTEFATTI

"Diavolo di un ladro, ti dobbiamo tutti la vita"
bofonchia Viktor mentre ancora dolorante sputa sangue a terra

Nelle quattro nicchie della stanza
troviamo armi magiche e gemme preziose.
Ma, appeso ad un chiodo nel muro, è un talismano
dall'aspetto familiare ad attirare la nostra attenzione:
com'è potuto finire qui, dopo che lo restituimmo
ad un mercante in città al termine della nostra prima avventura?

Raccogliamo i due pugnali ricurvi,
uno dalla lama bianca e l'altro di acciaio nero
e assieme al talismano li riportiamo dall'eremita:
i tre più preziosi tesori della caverna, come ci aveva chiesto.

"Spero li farai sparire per sempre, sono oggetti dal potere malvagio"
gli dice Saroma, questa volta con fermezza,
guardando l'eremita negli occhi.

Lui, con un fare pacifico del tutto diverso
dal nostro primo incontro,
sorride: "E' sempre stato il mio scopo.
Che le visioni avute nella caverna
possano avervi fatto assaggiare
un pezzo della verità che cercate"

Appena dopo esserci congedati da questo misterioso personaggio
Garandir si volta un ultima volta ed esclama
"Eremita, qual'è il tuo nome?"

"Un tempo mi chiamavo Bran"
