THE NOCTURNAL CROSSING OF THE LIZARD MEN VILLAGE

The lizard men village is the last barrier
before the narrow passage of the Dragon's Teeth
which leads into the valley

The humanoid reptiles are too many so we can't face them openly
our plan is to cross the village with the favor of the night
avoiding the main path, entering the heart of the forest

Our idea seems to work, the vegetation is thick but we move forward.
Then suddenly we come across a group of lizard men
hunting for preys in the night. We stop silently.

One of them suddenly comes out from the trees:
He notices us, seems surprised, we are armed and dangerous.
He is about to leave when he sees the curved blade
hanging from Fir's belt

He opens wide his eyes: he recognizes the knife and, indicating it,
anticipates our reaction by emitting an acute cry
that re-echoes in the darkness throughout the forest

We immediately understand to be in a great danger

LA TRAVERSATA NOTTURNA DEL VILLAGGIO DEGLI UOMINI LUCERTOLA

Il villaggio degli uomini lucertola è l'ultimo ostacolo
prima dello stretto passo del dente del drago
che conduce dentro la valle

I rettili umanoidi sono troppi
per poterli affrontare a viso aperto
il nostro piano è di oltrepassare il villaggio
con il favore della notte, evitando il sentiero principale
addentrandoci nel cuore della foresta

L'idea sembra funzionare, la vegetazione è fitta ma avanziamo.
Ad un tratto ci imbattiamo in un gruppo di uomini lucertola
a caccia di prede nella notte. Ci fermiamo per non fare rumore.

Uno di loro improvvisamente sbuca da dietro un'albero:
ci nota, sembra sorpreso, siamo armati e pericolosi.
Sta per allontanarsi quando nota il pugnale ricurvo
che pende dalla cintura di Fir

Strabuzza gli occhi: lo riconosce e, indicandolo,
anticipa ogni nostra reazione emettendo un grido acuto
che rieccheggia nelle tenebre per tutta la foresta

Capiamo subito di essere in grande pericolo
