"Eons ago in a land faraway covered with nothing but blinding white frost, Temple of Ice arose from nothingness and began to enlighten the hearts of those who sought the gift of infinite knowledge. For years and years pilgrimages were made by mystified souls to reach the great cosmic offering. Centuries later, the temple is long forgotten, buried under mountains of ice‌ with only distant tales remained of it’s once glorious existence. Hidden under the shadow of war that has taken over the world, The Temple is nothing but a legend. Reminiscent of a better time. It was at this time that The Pilgrim decided to start his journey to the frozen lands to rediscover the temple and lead humanity to its salvation".

A few months ago, only in digital format, this charming album of an iranian DS artist was released; it was an epic, romantic, ancestral winter-synth opera. The HDK team thought that this little masterpiece needed a physical version, so we have edited the cassette version of "Icebound" commissioning a new artwork to Italian artist Stefano Artibani.

A dreamy, beguiling, nostalgic dungeon synth quest through the shires. But, it's so much more than that. The LP incorporates some unique key changes, field recordings and a lot of Mort Garson style synth work. It sometimes reminds me of old 70's PG horror soundtracks.
