about

Imagine a nocturnal stroll through the alleys of a gloomy medieval city: your torch draws grim shadows on the walls, you glimpse the red eyes of the rats watching you from the cracks along the walls; an icy shiver tingles your spine and you feel mysterious presences around every corner...

The music of this album is all this: morbid and decadent dungeon-synth, animated by a dark fire. Like the one that burns in the heart of the unfortunate protagonist of this story:

𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓀𝑒𝑒𝓅𝑒𝓇

"Ever since anybody could remember, these forgotten lands were always shrouded in darkness. The days were gray and grim, overwhelmed by such thick and heavy clouds that the Sun could not pierce them with its rays – many said that after so many years even the sky was too scared to look upon this part of the world.

Every night there was a time when the Darkness felt free and powerful. When the Sun was hiding beyond the horizon, the Black Void slowly surrounded everything, letting the most horrible creatures hunt their preys. People were living in terror, watched by hungry, glowing, red eyes, praying the gods for a bit of Light.

But one day four mysterious men came from nowhere bearing the gift of the Light which never fades out. Nobody knew who they were - some said wizards, some said gods.

They were able to create the Light and keep away the Darkness. Each one of them chose their own direction – North, South, West and East – and began their mission to restore Light and joy of life on these cursed lands. The Lightkeeper of the East was very ambitious and hungry for power.

He found a secret place, an old library, hidden somewhere in the deep of the Capital City. It was full of old tomes about forbidden knowledge, that even if it was written, it was never meant to be read.

He was indeed powerful, but not enough to control this unleashed force. He became cursed by awakened Darkness which devoured his soul: his eyes, once filled with the flame of never fading Light, were now empty and full of impenetrable blackness.

Since that terrible day, instead of giving the Light, he started to take it away, shrouding these eastern lands in Darkness again, as a wraith haunting and condemning innocent people to a hopeless doom".
