Red This little release is to short to be able to choose a favorite from, but I do have to say that track 4 is one hell of a way to close the curtains. The fact that each track souds like a different stage to a modern interpretation of an old school D&D videogame made buying this as soon as possible a must.

Life is hard for the young Hoppo ... an old hobbit left him a diamond as inheritance, but a gang of evil frogs, that illegally occupies a castle at the top of the mountain, stole it. Hoppo knew he could not defeat the gang alone, so decided to pay a unicorn with questionable ethics because he taught him some lethal anti-frog spells that allowed him to disintegrate the castle and take possession of the treasure. Unfortunately the unicorn defrauded Hoppo and now he have a lawsuit with him. Between expense of lawyer and the evil frogs, will Hoppo ever find happiness?

"Frogs & Diamonds" is Hoppo's first album, composed and recorded in his home in the middle of the woods, with the help of a benevolent elf. Despite the period of distress and torment that the author experiences, the sound is optimistic and dreamy, great for lovers of dungeon-synth à la Fief.

A dreamy, beguiling, nostalgic dungeon synth quest through the shires. But, it's so much more than that. The LP incorporates some unique key changes, field recordings and a lot of Mort Garson style synth work. It sometimes reminds me of old 70's PG horror soundtracks.
